Tamarind Rice




Ingredients :
 
Rice                    1 Cup
Water                  2 Cups
Tamarind Raw      2 Cups.
Red chillies          22 Nos
Raw Peanuts        1/2 Cup
Salt Acc to taste
Oil 2 Cups

Seasoning :
Mustard Seeds      2 Tsp.
Channa dal         1 Tsp.
Urad dal           1 Tsp.
Curry leaves       few.
Hing               2 Tsp. 
Oil                2 Tbsp.
Methi seeds    1/4 Tsp

Method:
For the Gravy

Soak Tamarind in Hot water for an hour & extract
the juice. Heat a pan and add Hing and Methi seeds, let it stir for some time till they become little brown. Grind them when they cool down.

Take the two cups of Oil, heat it well and add the
Mustard Seeds, Channa dal, Urad dal  ,Peanuts,Curry leaves & fry for a minute.Add the ginded powder and salt.
Pour in the extract of tamarind & let it boil till it leaves the
raw smell. The oil should start floating on the top.
Cook till reaches the semi liquid consistency.
Cool & set aside.


For Mixing the rice

Cook the rice with water & cool.
Add enough gravy & mix gently with 1 Tbsp of Oil.


Preserve the gravy in the fridge , use as & when
necessary.
